Teatro Experimental de Boyacá is the name of a theater's company based in the town of Tunja, Colombia.
This company, in its twenty yeas of activity, has performed in the squares and parks of many of the mayor cities and towns of Colombia, as well in many theaters.
This company focuses its work mainly on contemporay issues of the country, with themes such as the armed conflict in Colombia, education, the rigid and anachronistic division of people according to the social class they belong to, the dramatic life conditions in rural zones and so on.
They also focus on free art educations for children of rural zones and they organize a theater festival (Parada de Teatro Callejero) with participation of many theatrical companies from Colombia and other countries as well. These photos are from their last work, "Glebas", which is about globalization, the lack of agrarian politics by Colombian Government and the gradual increase of unhealthy food chemically produced by transnational companies.
The company is now building its own theater, and some members are actually involved in the construction.
